The existence of other existing identifier(s) for a referent is incorporated into the DOI Metadata Kernel Declaration.

With this requirement, an existing legacy scheme can be used by any automated processes which pick up structured metadata from a DOI System service, using the DOI Kernel declaration of this referent.
